Fall 2018 Trends

With September coming to a close and October right around the corner, fall is in full swing! This time of year is truly the best, you get the end of summer warmth but also the early stages of the autumn winds. This shift is a perfect time to refreshen your wardrobe and to also start thinking about layering! Change is hard, but I think going from summer to fall is one of the best changes out there! I feel so inspired by all the colors and new fashion trends that it makes it so much more fun! Speaking of trends, fall 2018 is all about you being yourself. Wether you want to reinvent or redefine your style, fall is the time to do it.

With the help of Nordstrom, they have provided three great trends that I predict will be seen everywhere! They pull in decades worth of styles, color and great silhouettes.

Trend 1

retro redux

Retro redux takes us in a journey to the past, pulling looks from major style icons from those times. Getting inspiration from textured and sharp suits that we can now mix and match. Using also a rich traditional fall color palette that brings in warm toned browns, oranges and mustards with hints of burgundy and even deep teals! Taking the timeless prints of floral and plaid along with tweed and making them more modern with embellishments such as hardware detailing or lace, to really make it more current. Its all about drawing inspiration from the past and putting it in the now. Taking your more tailored pieces and mixing and matching with a different prints but keeping it neutral with all the earth tones, will definitely help you become fall ready!

luxe minimalism

Luxe minimalism draws inspiration from the little things in life. Pulling out those simple pieces from your wardrobe so that you look clean, polished and elegant is the idea behind this trend. This trend partnered with layering makes for the ultimate luxe feel. Pairing your tride and true staple pieces with plush and textured sweaters and coats, topping it off with accessories that add for an iridescent finish will keep you looking classy this fall. To spice things up, try wearing more pastel and softer colors such as beiges and soft pinks and peaches to help heighten your look.

high-octane sport

High-octane sport is a trend that is more for your outgoing loud personality type. This sassy yet sporty trend uses bold and bright colors to get looks for fall. Pairing more sporty elements like nylon zip jackets with pencil skirts and platform sneakers will be your go to look! To top it off, slinging a belt bag over your chest will give you the ultimate high-octane sport look.
