Summer's Hottest Shoes

Summer is just around the corner everyone, so be prepared! You want to make sure that your clothes, hair, and makeup are all summer-ready. But don't be too hasty and forget about your shoes. There are many cute and trendy pieces that this season has to offer up in terms of footwear. Once you see them, you probably won't be able to decide which style to rock first. You'll probably end up wanting them all, and there's no problem with that. After all, there's no such thing as too many shoes, right? So without further ado, let's take a look at the first shoe!

1. Lace-ups
These lace-up shoes are reminiscent of ballerina flats, with a trendier twist. They are the perfect way to glam up an outfit and can make you look put together in seconds. Pair them with shorts, a flowy blouse and you're good to go! The Aquazurra flats pictured below are a perfect pair.

However, they are a bit pricey so similar pairs like the ones shown below can be found with a little bit of internet surfing.

2. Flatforms
The platform's more casual, lower-maintenance cousin, the flatform. For all you shorter sisters out there, these shoes will be your new best friend. They give you that extra bit of height without the pain heels can bring. Because of that they're perfect for summer outings to the beach, a fun day with friends, or a date with that cute boy in your English class. These shoes are extremely versatile and can be worn with jeans, shorts, skirts, dresses, or anything else you feel like pairing with it!

3. Mules
No, these are not for your grandmother. Throw away your preconception that mules are old-lady shoes, that they're ugly, and that you'll never wear them. This style has been making a comeback and is proving to be one of the trendiest shoes to own this season. There are so many varieties and looks available, plus they're super comfortable. One look at these mules and you'll change your mind right away!

4. Tall Gladiator sandals
These shoes were popular a few years back and now they're making a comeback just in time for the summer! These knee-high gladiator sandals are a fan-favorite for those upcoming summer concerts. They also come in heeled versions for those of you who want your sandals to give you a bit of height. However, a word of caution with these shoes. You probably want to put some extra sunscreen on your legs before heading out unless you want some crazy tan lines!

5. Chunky heels
Move aside stick-skinny stilettos, summer calls for the rise of the chunky heel. While we're not trying to put the stiletto down, sometimes we need a shoe with a bit more substance. The chunky heel is just as cute and can be dressed down or up depending on the way you style it. An added plus is that the thicker heel makes the shoe much more comfortable to wear. That means that you don't need to pick between having style or comfort in your summer adventures. It really is the best of both worlds!
