The St. Patty's Day Alternative to Drinking

St. Patty's Day is almost here and it's a pretty awesome day because it's a holiday dedicated to drinking! But if you want to save on the calories or you're the designated driver, there's another way to get your Guinness fix.

Here's a DIY that's worth a try.

Rosemary Guinness Volumizing Rinse
(recipe from Stephanie Gerber of Hello Natural)

  • 5 drops rosemary essential oil
  • 1 can of Guinness, or other strong ale or stout

"Open beer and add rosemary oil. Let beer sit open overnight or longer because you want the beer to be flat. After shampooing, rinse hair with the beer. (I found it easier to bend over and pour forward over hair instead of freezing myself with cold beer down the back.) Let sit on hair for several minutes, massaging it into the roots of your hair. Rinse and style as usual."
These two ingredients are secret beauty powerhouses that can do wonders for your hair. The yeast in beer is said to plump the hair shafts while the malts and hops nourish and stimulate your hair. Rosemary oil helps stimulate hair growth, reduce hair loss, slow down the graying of hair, and help fight against dandruff. The results? Healthier, more luscious hair.
