Make your Workout Pants Work for You

3 Solutions to Problems Every Woman Faces with Workout Pants

This is the time when we all make that resolution to get fit, join a gym and be more active but that doesn't mean we can't look fabulous. Now ladies we have all had those humiliating wardrobe malfunctions so here are some of my tips on how to prevent you from facing these issues in your workout pants.

Problem #1

See through Workout Pants:
We have all seen it and some of us have been guilty of this problem. Now we aren't talking about mesh detail but being able to see what should remain unseen.

Solution
When shopping for workout pants take a moment to stretch the fabric and hold it up to the light to find out if you can see through it. When in the dressing room bend over in front of the mirror. If you are committed to a pair of pants and know they are see through wear a long shirt.
Tip: Workout pants with a higher cotton percentage can be more see through. Ideally you should look for synthetic blends such as polyester and spandex blends. The thicker the material the less chance of giving everyone a free show.

Problem #2

Waistband won't stay up:
This is a struggle for anyone who has curves. The waistband rolls down the front of your stomach creating an unflattering indention and any movement requires constant adjustment and pulling up.

Solution
When shopping look for workout pants with a thicker waistband. The best fitting pants should conform to the body. In the fitting room try squatting and lunging a few times. You may need to either go up or down a size depending on the brand to get the right fit.
Tip: Pants that have slippery contrasting fabric such as Nylon can make your pants legs slip down.

Problem #3

Visible sweat stains:
This is the hardest problem for many to prevent since we usually only discover it at the gym when you pass a mirror and see that unflattering sweat stain back there.

Solution
Once again reading the labels on your workout pants is important. Some pants are made for running and working out others are made for more leisure activities. Workout pants made primarily of cotton and spandex blends tend to show sweat more.
Tip: Look for labels that state wicking fabric and mesh details these will help your pants dry quickly and prevent sweat stains.
