How to Dress Well
and Remain Stylish During Cold Temperatures
For all you east coast gals,
dressing for cold weather is something you’re probably VERY used to. Showing
off your style, however, especially during these below freezing temperatures
and storms can definitely be a bit of a challenge. So… what’s a stylish girl to
do? Not to worry fellow fashionistas, it is still
possible to look good and show off your style all while staying warm.
BOOTS, BOOTS, BOOTS: Boots are your best friend during the cold! A great pair of boots is a must-have if you want to be
stylish in winter and if you invest in a good pair, they’ll last you for years
to come. Boots are SO versatile during the winter. Find a good pair of black
and brown boots and you’re golden.
WOOL COAT: A
coat is the most important part of a stylish girls’ winter wardrobe. If you
just want something classic that won't go out of style, a wool pea coat is
always the best way to go. Coats, especially if they’re 100% wool, aren’t
always cheap, however, once you invest in a good quality coat, it’ll last you a
lifetime. The coat I am wearing in the photo above is coat I bought at
Nordstrom years ago. I remember paying around $200 for it, (which at the time I
was hesitant on buying because of the hefty price) and it was one of the best
purchases I’ve made! This coat is incredibly stylish, warm, and has survived
over 5 harsh winters.
ACCESSORIES: Accessorizing
isn't only for regular outfits - you can accessorize your outerwear as well to
add a little extra something to brighten up your outfit. Scarves, mittens,
beanies, and hats can literally transform a boring winter outfit into something
fun. I remember not really liking the outfit I wore in the picture above,
however, once I threw on that scarf, beanie, and purse, it INSTANTLY
transformed my outfit AND kept me even warmer.
At the end of the day, staying warm during the
harsh winter is what’s most important. It’s important to spend a little extra
money on good quality items that’ll last longer and actually keep you warm
instead of going for cheap quality items that just wont do the job!
