Met Gala Round Up

For those of you who may not know the Met Gala is an annual fundraising gala for the benefit of the Metropolitan Museum of Art's Costume Institute in New York City. This year, the extravagant Met Gala was centered around the idea of "Manus x Machina: Fashion in Age of Technology." The exhibit displays more than 150 ensembles dating from the early 20th century to the present. The show will focus on the founding of the haute couture in the 19th century, when the sewing machine was invented, and the emergence of a distinction between the hand (manus) and the machine (machina) at the beginning of mass production and the Industrial Revolution. In accordance with the theme, the gowns seen at the Met Gala had a futuristic look, intricate details, and overall were out of this world.
Designer Zac Posen made actress Claire Dane the highlight of the gala by creating a whimsical sky blue ball gown that lights up in the dark (LITERALLY!). This one of a kind dress was made from organza and fiber optics, which enables the gown to light up. In addition, Oliver Rousteing the creative director for Balmain, was one of the designers who created many of the metallic gowns seen at the Met Gala. Some of the celebrities he dressed included Cindy Crawford, Kim Kardashian, Kylie Jenner, Tyga, Kris Jenner, and Kanye West. Not so surprisingly Kim and Kanye were named as best dressed.
Some other celebrities that made the front news were Gigi Haddid and Zayn Malik they made their first red carpet appearance posing for the camera and making it known they are together. Let us just say Gigi looked absolutely stunning in her gunmetal dress! Zoe Saldana also gave something to talk about in her extravagant Dolce & Gabbana colored feather gown. She absolutely stole the show with the tail of her gown that was insanely long, dramatic, and beautiful! All in all, all the celebrities gave us something to talk about and looked absolutely stunning!
