This year, the theme was Heavenly Bodies: Fashion and the Catholic Imagination with a "Sunday's best" dress code for attendees, with the purpose of connecting both fashion and religious works of art throughout history.

There's no question that we would see over-the-top fashion presented on the red carpet as per usual, however we were yet again blown away by the embellishments and bold outfits that made an appearance on celebrities, models, designers, and industry icons alike.
Of course, with the theme centered around the catholic faith and historical religious works of art, gold, jewels and jewel tones, as well as countless headpieces and angelic inspiration graced the red carpet. Rihanna wore Maison Margiela by John Galliano, featuring an adorned pope hat to match the intricately detailed body of her outfit. Blake Lively certainly did not disappoint as well, with a gorgeous metallic and deep red Versace gown complete with a lovely hairpiece reminiscent of an angelic halo in religious artwork.
All-in-all, this year's event was a success in the purpose to merge fashion and faith, and below are the pictures to prove it.
